HOUGHTON — Houghton men’s lacrosse player Tyler Kempney, a 2009 Carthage graduate, was named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week.

The senior attackman scored 13 goals during the team’s two-game weekend road trip. He scored three straight goals in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 12-11 victory over Hiram, rallying the team to its first victory.

Kempney has 15 goals on the season for Houghton (1-2), which is in its first season of intercollegiate play.
