Funeral services for 80 year old Mr. Lawrence William Weller of Potsdam will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Rev. Lee Sweeney pastor of Knapps Station Community Church officiating. Burial will be in the Spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Colton, New York. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Thursday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Lawrence died at his home in Potsdam on Wednesday, March 12, 2013.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Ruth of Potsdam, one son Rocky Lee Weller of Denton, North Carolina, five daughters Martha Jean LaBaff, Potsdam, Mrs. Judson (Rosa) Daggett, Massena, Ms. Robin C. Newtown, Bloomington, In., Ms. Tami Jo Deshane, Norwood, and Mrs. Bernice Louise Clements of Middlesex, North Carolina. Also surviving Lawrence are two sisters Carol Sharlow of Parishville and Helen Barney of Canton, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A sister, Alberta Planty and two brothers Donald L. Weller and Bernard F. Weller pre-deceased him.

Lawrence was born in Hopkinton, New York on May 22, 1932 the son of William and Marion Taylor Weller. He was married to Ruth A. Caster on April 10, 1954 at the Potsdam First Baptist Church. Mr. Weller was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the American Rifle Association. He was a sawyer at the EE & CC Greene Lumber Mill in Sanfordville for many years.
