Gordon D. Hewey, 58, of New Russia NY, passed away March 9th, 2013 in Orlando Fl. Graveside memorial will take place in the spring.

No calling hours.

Gordon was born in Tupper Lake NY to Henry and Kathyleen Hewey on January 24, 1955.He graduated from Potsdam Central High School in 1973. Joined the Navy Sea-Bees and served till 1977. He married Susan Pappa in 1976 ending in divorce and later remarried Circe Belden in 2011.

Gordon worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Jefferson County Highway Department for 20 years. He had been a member of the Watertown Golf Club, a Scout Leader for Sacred Heart in Watertown NY. He was an avid Fly Fishing guide for the Adirondack area on the Ausable River. He loved to paint and was very active with fundraising with the local motorcycle clubs.

Gordon made himself available in a 10 year study at the University of Rochester.

Gordon is survived by his wife Circe, a daughter Kyle Hewey of Wilmington NY, a son Todd Hewey of Watertown NY, and three grandchildren, a sister Gloria Saxby of Rensselaer Falls NY, and 3 brothers, James Hewey of Washington State, Glen Hewey of Potsdam NY, and John Hewey of Rensselaer Falls NY, as well as nieces and nephews.
