SU dismisses Pierce-Brewster, Walls from team
SYRACUSE Syracuse University football coach Scott Shafer announced on Wednesday that defensive linemen Markus Pierce-Brewster and Davon Walls have been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.
Pierce-Brewster and Walls were two of four SU students charged with campus burglaries last week.
Syracuse police said that the two were charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny in connection with the burglary of an apartment Feb. 23. Both players are accused of stealing a flat screen television, an XBOX gaming system, two iPods and XBOX games while students were asleep inside the apartments.
Pierce-Brewster appeared in 12 games last season, recording 30 tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery. Walls appeared in three games.
