MASSENA Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Geiser, Hillcrest Avenue, recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary with a trip to visit their daughter, Bridgid Bartkiewicz, in Boston, and to revisit their honeymoon destination in Rockport and Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
Mr. Geiser, son of the late Robert and Mina Geiser, and Michaelene B. Helmecki, daughter of the late John and Stacia Helmecki, were married Oct. 1, 1977, at St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., with the Rev. Joseph Meighan officiating. Honor attendants were Robert Geiser, Wilkes-Barre, brother of the groom, and Kathleen Sowa, Berwick, Pa., sister of the bride.
Mr. Geiser graduated from St. Nicholas High School, Wilkes-Barre, and the Federal Aviation Administration Academy, Oklahoma City, Okla. He has been a federal employee for 30 years and is postmaster of the Winthrop Post Office. Mr. Geiser has been a volunteer with Massena Rotary and Massena Library. He enjoys volleyball, travel and cooking.
Mrs. Geiser graduated from Nanticoke (Pa.) High School and with honors from Kings College, Wilkes-Barre. She was a counselor with Volunteers In Service To America, Nashville, and was a preschool teacher. Mrs. Geiser is a habilitation specialist for Cerebral Palsy of the North Country, Canton. She was a long-time volunteer with St. Lawrence Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and Friends of Massena Library. Mrs. Geiser enjoys travel and reading.
Mr. and Mrs. Geiser are members of Sacred Heart Church, where they serve as eucharistic ministers.
The couple has one daughter, Mrs. Bartkiewicz.
