LOWVILLE Mr. and Mrs. C. Richard Duke Mihalyi, 5377 Eugene St., will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary in June at a resort in Skaneateles.
Mr. Mihalyi, son of the late Charles and Mildred Mihalyi, and Helen M. Putz, daughter of the late Basil and Lottie Putz, were married on April 3, 1948, in a candlelight ceremony at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Walter Bennett officiating. Honor attendants were the late Regina Gray, sister of the bride, and the late Louis Mihalyi, brother of the groom.
Mr. Mihalyi was a salesman for Mihalyi Real Estate before joining the Navy in 1944. After his marriage, he started the Mihalyi Insurance Agency with his brother, Louis. Later, the insurance agency and real estate firm merged into Mihalyi Real Estate and Insurance Agency, where Mr. Mihalyi works, semi-retired, from home.
Mrs. Mihalyi was employed by the state Department of Transportation, resigning after a few years to raise the couples children. She is involved with the Mihalyi insurance firm and enjoys spending time with her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Mihalyi have lived at their current address for 53 years.
The couple has two sons and a daughter-in-law, the Rev. David R., Lowville, and Wayne and Jackie, Watson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Tom Puccia, Watertown, and Jody and Gary Widrick, Rockville, Md.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
