Following a five-year freeze on Seaway toll rates for vessels, the Canadian St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corp. announced that tolls will increase by 3 percent for the 2013 navigation season.

The Seaway charges different rates depending on the type of the shipment — such as bulk cargo, grain, coal and steel slab — and volume in addition to a minimum charge of $25.75.
