Four members of the OFA Varsity Wrestling team and the off-season Wrestling club Swamp Donkey Wrestling have qualified as top seeds in the NYWAY State Championships today in Elmira.
All four wrestlers earned top seeds with qualification wins at the Northeastern Regionals.
Brody Sheppard is a top seed in the Junior Division at 105 lbs. Andrew Cole is a No. 1 seed at 182lbs. in the Senior Division. Bailey Phelps is the No. 2 seed in the 152lb class in the Sr. Division. Tanner LaPiene earned a top seed in the 99lb class but is unable to wrestle after recent shoulder injury.
The team is coached by Rick Ledwith, Al Cole, and Ed Trimm.
