POTSDAM — Watertown native and former Immaculate Heart Central standout Christine Wright scored with 88 seconds left in the third overtime period to lead the Clarkson women’s lacrosse team to a 12-11 win over Utica College in triple overtime on Friday.

Clarkson (2-0) won a nonconference game that lasted over three hours and featured an 80-minute delay due to a snowstorm.

Katie VanDeValk led Clarkson with five goals and one assist. Alyssa Cristaldi scored four goals and Wright finished with two goals and four assists. Marissa Mastronardi added a goal for Clarkson.

Utica (4-1) was led by a four-goal effort from Megan Kane. Courtney Wheeler and Morgan Dupont each scored three goals and Samantha Gebler added one goal and two assists.

BASEBALL

ST. LAWRENCE 3, WESTMINSTER 1

Andrew Schreyack struck out 10 to lead the Saints (4-3) to a nonconference win over Missouri’s Westminster College in Fort Myers, Fla.

Brian Magovney, also an IHC grad, led the Saints’ offense, going 2-for-4. Khifer O’Connor, Ethan Braddock and John Ainsley drove in runs for the Saints.

CLARKSON 5-3, FRANKLIN & MARSHALL 3-6

Dan Lenney and Tim Beninati each had two hits in the opener as the Golden Knights (1-3) split a nonconference doubleheader with Franklin & Marshall in Eagle Lake, Fla.

Pete Roma was the winner in game one for Clarkson, striking out six in seven innings.

Nolan Driscoll had two hits for Clarkson in the second game.

CCBC CATONSVILLE 8, JEFFERSON CC 6

Blake Overmiller drove in a pair of runs as the Cardinals rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a win over the Cannoneers in Baltimore.

Brandon O’Malley belted out a pair of hits for Community College of Baltimore County Cantonsville (9-6).

Kyle Simmons had an bases-clearing RBI triple for JCC (1-6).

SOFTBALL

SAINTS SPLIT

Cailyn Welsh delivered a two-out hit in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Lauren Weisbarth from third base to give SLU a 4-3 win over Franciscan in a nonconference game in Clermont, Fla. The Saints (4-4) fell 2-0 to Lawrence in their second game.

Elizabeth McGinley was the winning pitcher in the opener, striking out seven, and going 3-for-3 at the plate. Weisbarth was 2-for-4 for the Saints.

MEN’S TENNIS

ST. LAWRENCE 8, ALBION 1

Four players won singles and doubles matches as the Saints (6-2) knocked off Albion (2-4) in a nonconference match in Orlando.

Michael Hayden and Paul Barrett teamed to win a doubles match and won their singles matches. John Megas and Alan Shortz were also winners in singles and doubles for SLU.
