FORGED INSTRUMENT - WINTHROP - Winthrop-based state police charged Brian J. Snyder, 27, of 250 Center St., Massena, formerly of County Route 53, Brasher Falls, with petit larceny and three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. He reportedly stole checks from a mailbox in the town of Stockholm and then allegedly had a female accomplice cash three of the checks - each written fro $25 - at the Twin Rivers Credit Union. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice James M. Crandall and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear on the forged instrument charges March 26 in Massena Town Court and on the petit larceny charge March 1 in Stockholm Town Court.
