Massena: Lillian M. Dufresne 72, of Madison Ave., passed away Monday afternoon March 18, 2013 at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY. Lil was born on September 14, 1940 in Massena, NY the daughter of Eli and Aldia (Mayville) Demers. After graduating from Massena High School she married John “Jack” A. Dufresne on May 11, 1963 at Sacred Heart Church. Jack predeceased her on May 11, 1995. She was employed as a health care provider having retired from Sunmount Health Care Facility. Lil was a member of the Red Hat Society, and LCBA. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, she was a very loyal and faith filled Catholic. Lil is survived by her four children; Joan Mitchell and companion Leo Barnes of Brasher Falls, John R. and Tamara of Bedford, Indiana; Jane and Gerald Campeau of Mount Holly, Vermont and Jody L. of Massena, four grandchildren; Nolan and Connor Mitchell of Norfolk, NY and Jaclyn and Jenna Dufresne of Bedford, Indiana. Brothers and sisters; Vivian Boley of Alexandria, Virginia; Adrian “Joe” Demers of Sherman, Texas; Robert and (Shirley) Demers of Decatur, Alabama; Theresa Hannan of Syracuse, NY; Paul and (Sabina) Demers of Columbus, Mississippi; Peter and (Kay) Demers of Camillus, NY; several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday March 22, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Massena with the Rev. Jack Downs presiding. Interment will take place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.
