CLAYTON The Antique Boat Museum, 750 Mary St., named Michael J. Folsom its director of marketing and communications Wednesday.
Mr. Folsom, who will oversee all marketing efforts at the museum, previously served for the Syracuse Crunch Hockey Club in the American Hockey League as the senior director of promotional development. He worked for the club for 15 seasons in various marketing positions. In the Thousand Islands region, he is known for operating a website called the Ship Watcher, a news source for St. Lawrence Seaway shipping information. He also founded the Sailing Seaway Clayton festival in 2011.
My passion for the region, and boating in general, makes this a perfect fit for me, he said in a prepared statement.
Mr. Folsom resides in Cicero with his wife, Christie, and their daughter Lucy. He recently joined the board of directors for the Clayton Chamber of Commerce and serves as a committee member for the Thousand Islands Regional Dock and a board member for the Lynx Educational Foundation.
