Ellen M. Meeks, 91, formerly of Theresa died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at United Helpers Riveredge, Ogdensburg.

Born September 22, 1921 in the town of Antwerp, she was the daughter of William and Minnie Giltz Dudley. She and her family moved to Theresa when she was 5 years old and she attended local schools.

She married Harold W. Meeks on April 10, 1937. The couple were farmers in the Theresa area for over 20 years and Mr. Meeks also retired from the NYSDOT. Mr. Meeks died July 2, 1985.

Mrs. Meeks was the Town of Theresa Tax Collector and Town Clerk for over 20 years.

She was a member and past Elder of the Theresa Presbyterian Church and volunteered for the Nearly New Shop, Theresa for many years.

Mrs. Meeks enjoyed attending family gatherings.

Survivors include 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, John and Donna, Ravena, James and Eva, Newtown, PA, and Jack, Watertown; 2 daughters and th1er husbands, Marion and Leon Pangburn, FL and Connie and Darrel Kicherer, Watertown; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A brother, Wesley Dudley, a sister, Fannie Timmerman, and a great grandson died before her.

The funeral will be 3 pm Friday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa with Pastor Kerri Weldon officiating officiating. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery will be in the spring.

Calling hours are 1 to 3 pm prior to the funeral.
