The Jefferson Community College Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Awards and Athletic Hall of Fame induction. These honors are bestowed annually to outstanding JCC graduates who have distinguished themselves through professional achievement, service to their community or contribution to athletics at Jefferson. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held Aug. 15 at the Watertown Elks Lodge.

Award categories for distinguished alumni include professional achievement, rising star and community service.

The Professional Achievement Award recognizes a graduate who demonstrates 10 or more years of success in professional life and leadership within his or her profession. The successful candidate should exhibit professional growth and leadership abilities and have achieved recognition for success.

The Rising Star Award recognizes a graduate of the past 10 years who is on the rise in his or her career field. The successful candidate should exhibit the potential for significant professional achievement and leadership ability and promise for continued success and set an inspirational example for future alumni.

The Jeffersonian Award recognizes a graduate who demonstrates a dedication to service on a local, state, national or international level. The successful candidate should have a history of volunteerism, civic involvement, humanitarian undertakings or service to JCC.

The Community Service Award recognizes a member of the campus community, either through employment or significant service on college leadership or advisory boards, who meets all requirements for the Jeffersonian Award, but is not a graduate of Jefferson.

The Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes individuals or teams who have exhibited outstanding athletic success or have had a positive impact on Jefferson Athletics through participation, support or interest in the athletic program. Successful candidates should exhibit continued support for and involvement in athletics and bring distinction and honor as an athlete, team, coach, administrator or special friend to the college.
