DESIGNATED LANE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Christopher J. Sharpe, 23, of Norfolk for failure to use designated lane and operation of an unregistered motor vehicle following a traffic stop at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday on Grinnell Avenue.
STRANGULATION - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police reported Thursday they had charged Alex R. Tarbell, 30, of Akwesasne with second-degree strangulation and first-degree reckless endangerment on Monday following an investigation into an incident on Jan. 28. Tarbell was reportedly in care of a 17-month-old child at 26 Herne Road, Akwesasne, at the time of the incident. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and sent to the Franklin County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
CELL PHONE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Gary J. McGregor, 61, of state Route 56, Norfolk, for using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle following a traffic stop at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street.
SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Jack L. Feuhring, 64, of Massena for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday on East Hatfield Street.
UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - POTSDAM - Massena-based state police reported Thursday they had charged Samantha M. Scheid, 19, of Potsdam with unlawful possession of marijuana on March 16 following a stop on Route 56 in the town of Potsdam.
FORCIBLE TOUCHING - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police reported Thursday they had charged Matthew J. Ireland, 26, of Akwesasne with forcible touching, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child on March 12. Police said the charges stemmed from an incident that reportedly took place on March 5. Ireland was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
