A contingent of Frontier League boys and girls basketball players will be competing in the annual Zebra Classic beginning Monday.
The boys team, under the name of Northern Federal Credit Union, will open play at 7:45 p.m. at Nottingham High School against Local 43 IBEW.
The team consists of Tom Bassett and Jacob Worden of South Jefferson, Peyton McLaurin, Walter Jeter and Ben Martin from Carthage, Shelton Williams of Indian River, Watertowns Mason Phillips and Siraj Sindhu, Samuel Widrick from Beaver River, Lowvilles Kyle Malik, Troy Wilson from Lyme and Antonio Figueroa of Copenhagen.
The head coach is Carthage assistant Sean Gorman.
The girls team New York Air Break is led by Indian River head coach Jim Whitley and will begin play at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Onondaga Community College against the Utica area all-star team.
The roster is made up of Emily Kuba, Katie Brierton and Sarah Mattingly of Indian River, South Jeffersons Austin Stevens, Brooke VanCoughnett and Clarissa Perry, Zakiya Saunders and Lexi Smith from Carthage, Thousand Islands senior Kristin McGraw, Watertowns Katie Aldrich and Katie Pitkin and Nikki Maier of General Brown.
