Ogdensburg Fort Association offers bursary honoring former Seaway Trail leader


OGDENSBURG — The Fort La Présentation Association has created an annual bursary of a maximum of $100 to honor the memory of Teresa H. Mitchell, president and CEO of the Seaway Trail Corp. and of the Seaway Trail Foundation.

The bursary will allow a person to attend the War of 1812 Heritage Talks in Ogdensburg each year. This year’s talks will take place April 26 and 27.

Applicants must provide a brief submission describing the importance of the War of 1812 to promoting tourism. The text must not exceed 250 words. All submissions become the property of the Fort La Présentation Association.

Secondary and post-secondary school students may apply.

Submissions must be mailed to the Fort La Présentation Association, Box 1749, Ogdensburg, N.Y. 13669, or emailed to Submissions must be received by April 8 and must include the applicant’s name, address and phone number.
