POTSDAM — Paige Fayette scored six goals and Katie Brierton added five goals and two assists as the Indian River girls lacrosse team defeated Potsdam, 13-7, in the season opener for both teams Tuesday afternoon.

Payge Heingarten made six saves for the Warriors (1-0).

Annette Rishe paced the Sandstoners (0-1) with three goals.

n Connor Brown scored four goals to lead the Indian River boys lacrosse team to a 7-3 win over Colton-Pierrepont in a nonleague game at Potsdam High School.

Kyle Smith scored twice and Logan Prudhomme added the other goal for the Warriors.

Gyle Dominy, Andrew Holden and Jake Angleberger scored for the Colts.
