The funeral service for B. Jene LaVere, 73, of 14326 County Route 75, Adams will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at New Hope Baptist Church. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at TLC Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday. Internment will be in Dexter Cemetery in the Spring. Mr. LaVere died at his winter residence in Summerfield, Florida on March 21, 2013.

He was born in Washington, Georgia on New Year’s Day in 1940 to Kenneth J. and Sarah Howard LaVere. He graduated from Dexter High School and later joined the US Army serving honorably from 1962-1968. He worked in management for P & C at several locations until he retired in 1995. Mr. LaVere was a licensed pilot that enjoyed water sports and camping. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and Schilo Baptist Church in Belleview Florida. Mr. LaVere was a devoted christian gentleman that lived his life for the health and well being of others.

He is survived by his two brothers Paul LaVere of Smithville, Richard LaVere of Greensboro, NC and a sister, Beatrice Anne Matteson of Watertown. He is also survived by several neices and nephews including his nephew James LaVere of Utica, NY. A brother Robert LaVere died before him.
