Madrid: Eunice A. Wagner, 75 of Sweet Road Madrid passed away on March 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Eunice was born in Ogdensburg on April 28, 1937 the daughter of Dennis and Maefred (Fregoe) Doud. She was a graduate of Madrid High School. Eunice was a certified Family Care Provider for the State of New York for 48 years. She married Edward Buck Wagner August 28, 1954 at St. Lawrence Church with Rev. Wilfred Nugent presiding. She is survived by her husband Buck three daughters and one son, Diane Wagner of Butler, PA, Janice Miller of Lisbon, NY, Patricia and Carmen Wagner of Madrid. She is survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Eunice is also survived by her sister Virginia and Dick Schoonmaker of Forest Port, NY, Jean Dowe, Watertown, NY and Ray and Myrna Doud of Parishville, NY, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, James, brothers, Gerald in infancy, Robert, sisters Kathleen Beaulieu, Patricia Roberts and Mary Tyo.
Eunice was past member and secretary of the Family Care Provider Association. She served as Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Baptist Church for many years. Eunice was well known for being a very gracious and generous host. Eunice was very active with Compassionate Friends, an organization helping bereaved parents serving as President following the loss of her son.
Family and friends are invited to call Sunday evening 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 2:00 pm at St. John the Baptist Church with Rev. Msgr Harry Snow presiding. Interment will be in the spring at Madrid Cemetery.
