A Watertown man was sentenced Friday in Jefferson County Court to three years in state prison for selling heroin within the county.

Tyrone L. Hale, 40, address not available, also was ordered to undergo two additional years of supervision upon his release from prison for a March 1 guilty plea to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and an admission that he violated probation. He received a one-year concurrent sentence on the probation violation.

He was accused in a grand jury indictment handed up in November with selling heroin within the county. At the time, he was serving five years’ probation imposed in February 2012 for a December 2011 guilty plea to third-degree attempted criminal possession of stolen property after having been accused of selling jewelry stolen from a Black River woman. He violated probation by being convicted of the new crime.

At the time, he was serving 10 years’ probation imposed in December for a third-degree rape conviction. He admitted violating probation by being convicted of the new charge.
