Frederick L. Bulger, 84, 521 Hamlin Street, Watertown died Saturday March 30, 2013 at Hospice of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm.
Mr. Bulger was born November 9, 1928, in Canton, New York, a son of John L. and Cora Laidlaw Bulger. He graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1946. Mr. Bulger was in the United States Army serving in Germany during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1952. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1955 with a bachelors degree in business. On May 26, 1956, he married Mary LaFave at Notre dame Church in Malone, New York with Reverend Martin officiating. Mr. Bulger was a computer programmer at the New York Airbrake from 1955 until his retirement in 1991. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of the American Legion Post 61, an avid reader and a really great grandfather to his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons and two daughter in-laws: Michael and Marcia, John and Vicki both of Watertown and Steven, New York City. A daughter Susan and Michael Erdner, Adams. Eight grandchildren; Brian Erdner, Nicole Southcott, Tara Reaves, Sara Bulger, Michael Bulger, Lauren Bulger, Mason Bulger, Marley Bulger.
Calling hours will be Tuesday April 2 from 4-7 pm at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be Wednesday at 9:15am at the funeral home followed by a 10am funeral mass at Holy Family Church with Reverend Steven Murray officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
