Patricia A. Woods

Richville – Patricia A. Woods, 68, passed away March 21, 2013 in Florida.

Calling hours are Wednesday, April 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur, and the funeral service will be private.

Patricia was born December 10, 1944 in Watertown, the daughter of Martin and Evelyn House Brown.

She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1963.

Patricia married Carlton “Punk” Woods on May 22, 1970 in Gouverneur with justice of the peace Ned Cole officiating.

Patricia was employed at the Boston Store in Massena, at Perfetto & Whalen in Gouverneur, CIVES Steel Corp. in Gouverneur, and was the office manager of Richville Fuel Company until retirement. She also owned the Knit & Knot Shop in Richville and served as the Richville village clerk for years.

She served as a Cub Scout leader and 4-H leader, was a charter member of the Richville Vol. Fire Department Auxiliary, and was a member of the Quilters Guild, Canton. Pat loved quilting, knitting, sewing, taking trips to Otter Creek horse trails with her family, and the couple enjoyed spending winters in Davenport, FL.

Patricia is survived by her husband Carlton, a son Darren and Becky VanOrnum of Richville, two daughters Wendy and Jeffrey Gibson of Gouverneur, Allison and Brian Lumley of Richville, 9 grandchildren Ryan, Dylan, and Kaitlyn Gibson, Carlee, Elaina, and Laike Lumley, Stan Velker, Darien and Jacob VanOrnum. She is also survived by two sisters Connie Mather of Connecticut and Jane Lawlee of Marietta, and for many years, Pat was a foster mother to several children including Laura McCormick and Robin Hilyard of Norwood . Patricia is predeceased by her parents, a sister Joan Brown, and a brother James Brown.
