Howard L. Bennett, 25, of 29247 Swamp Road, Lyme, was charged on Wednesday morning by Jefferson County Sheriffs deputies with third-degree criminal trespass.
Mr. Bennett is accused of entering a County Route 144 residence through a locked bedroom when he did not have permission to do so. He was arraigned in Champion Town Court and remanded to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 bail.
In a separate incident that morning, state police also charged him with driving while intoxicated at 3:10 a.m. on Spring Avenue in the city of Watertown.
He was also given vehicle and traffic tickets for reckless driving, driving without headlights, failing to stop at a red light, unsafe turn and failing to report an address change.
State police said he blew a 0.12 percent blood alcohol content. The state limit is 0.08 percent.
