Larry D. Dailey, 65, of Constable, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his home.

Born in Massena, N.Y., October 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Donald and Janet Shorette Dailey. He graduated from South Lewis Central High School in Lowville, N.Y.

Larry served in the United States Army from 1966 until 1969. He was stationed in Germany.

On April 24, 1971, he was united in marriage to the former Irene M. Empey in Brasher Falls, N.Y. She survives.

In 1970, he began his working career for the Department of Corrections and retired in 2003 as a maintenance supervisor at Bare Hill Correctional Facility in Malone, N.Y.

He was a member of the Malone American Legion and the N.R.A. He enjoyed fishing, reading and camping.

Along with his wife, Irene, he is survived by two sons, Donald Dailey of Constableand John Dailey of North Bangor, N.Y.; six brothers and five sisters-in-law, Lorne and Carol Dailey of Moravia, N.Y., Darrell and Wendy Dailey of Massena, N.Y., Timothy and Jennifer Dailey of Morrisonville, N.C., Ward and Nancy Dailey of Port Lyden, N.Y., Daniel Dailey and his companion Theresa Cutler of Massena, and Matthew and Stacy Dailey of Massena; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Janalynn Patraw of Chapel Hills, Tenn., Shannon and Daniel Villnave of Waddington, N.Y., Donna and Shane Robbins of Columbia, Tenn., and Maryellen and James Judware of Massena; one grandson, Connor Dailey; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Larry Dailey Jr., in 1975.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Constable Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Constable Protestant Cemetery.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Constable Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, N.Y.
