CANTON Jordan Hunneyman drew a bases-loaded walk with two out in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Eddy Morel with the winning run, as the SUNY Canton baseball team defeated Briarcliffe 2-1 in the opening game of a nonconference doubleheader Friday.
Briarcliffe answered with a 5-2 win over the Kangaroos (4-16 overall) in game two.
Alex LaFountain struck out five in the final two innings of game one to earn the win for SUNY Canton. Hunneyman drew two other walks in the game.
Anthony Mele led Briarcliffe in game two, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
SUNY NEW PALTZ 15-3, SUNY POTSDAM 0-2
Shayna Burgess had three hits in the opening game and two more in game two as the Hawks swept the Bears (6-8, 0-6) in a SUNYAC doubleheader in New Paltz.
Melissa Liotta, Marissa Monaco and Chelsea Kull each added three hits for SUNY New Paltz (13-6, 6-0) in game one.
Ashley Thayer went 3-for-4 for SUNY Potsdam in game two and Jordan Sarat was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
ST. LAWRENCE 16, BARD 5
Brigid Hurley scored four goals and the Saints (7-4, 2-2) built a 13-2 lead by halftime in a Liberty League win at Annondale-on-Hudson.
Annie McClelland scored three goals and Carly VanTassel and Mackenzie Collins tallied two for SLU.
Brianna Bean led Bard (4-5, 0-3) with two goals.
CLARKSON 14, VASSAR 12 (OT)
After blowing a four-goal lead at halftime, the Golden Knights (7-2, 2-2) outscored the Brewers 3-1 in overtime to win a Liberty League game in Poughkeepsie.
Katie VanDeValk led Clarkson with five goals and an assist. Alyssa Cristaldi scored three goals and Marissa Mastronardi and Christine Wright each tallied two. Noelle Miller and Kerrie Cline provided Clarksons other goals.
Isabelle Goldstein led the Brewers (5-2, 1-2) with three goals and Katherine Stegmann, Marissa Reilly, Phoebe Tzannes and Dara Davis each scored twice for Vassar.
ST. LAWRENCE 9, NAZARETH 0
Michael Hayden, John Megas, Rhonny Rosario, Paul Barrett and Tom Timpone each won a singles match and were part of winning doubles teams as the Saints (7-4) swept Nazareth (1-8) in Canton.

Olivia Arroyo didnt give up a point in her singles match and teamed with Samantha Miller to allow just one point in doubles, leading St. Lawrence (5-4) to a sweep of Nazareth (8-7) in Canton.
Elkie Vandenbeemt, Morgan McNeal, Elizabeth Geer and Shannon Murphy each won singles matches and were on winning doubles teams for SLU.
JCC PLACES THIRD
Mike Donnelly and Chadd Call each fired an 81 to lead Jefferson Community College to a third-place finish in its season opener, the Mohawk Valley CC Invitational at the Oneida Community Golf Course.
Andrew Robinson (82), Bryant McCarthy (83) and Riley Parker (84) all placed in the top 20 to help JCC finish with a 327 team score, just behind Monroe CC (310) and Jamestown CC (312).
