Funeral services for 85 year old Mrs. Veda Mae Taylor of Parishville will be held at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Monday, April 8th at 10:30 AM with Rev. Patricia Lennox officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Parishville. There will be a reception for family and friends at the Parishville United Methodist Church following the committal. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Sunday, April 7th. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Parishville Vol. Fire Dept., Parishville Vol. Rescue Squad or to the Alzheimer’s Association Central New York Chapter, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204. Mrs. Taylor died April 1, 2013 at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena.

Survivors include three sons Michael and his w5044ife Michiko of Parishville, Andrew and his wife Mary of Parishville, Darren and his wife Terrie of Norfolk, a daughter Karen Thatcher of DeKalb Junction, four sisters Mrs. June Remington, Mrs. Belva Emlin, and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Chevier all of Parishville, Mrs. Keith (Eleanor) Goodrich of Syracuse; a brother Mr. Dale Sevey and his wife JoAnn of Norfolk, ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Veda was pre-deceased by her husband Elmer Taylor, a son Rudy Taylor, a daughter Kathy Wilson, and a son in law Lyle Thatcher.

She was born in Parishville, NY January 4, 1928 the daughter of Stanley A. and Delia E. (Armstrong) Sevey. Veda graduated from Parishville High School in 1945 and was married to Elmer W. Taylor in Hopkinton, NY. Mr. Taylor died February 13, 1978.

Veda was a member of the Parishville United Methodist Church and the Parishville Hilltoppers Senior Citizens Club. For many years Veda was employed as a U.S. Postal Service clerk at the Parishville Post Office.

Arrangements for Veda’s service are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
