Owners reduce planned microbrewery at mall

Because it acquired less funding than it anticipated, RC Spot LLC has narrowed the scope of its microbrewery, Skewed Brewing Co., planned at the Salmon Run Mall.

The North Country Alliance rejected its proposal for a $50,000 loan and the project’s cost has dropped from $840,000 to $790,000 as a result.

The interior of the the 2,250- square-foot pub and restaurant will be changed. It will occupy a vacant space next to the Regal Cinemas’ entrance.

The project will be partly funded by a $500,000 loan approved by Watertown Savings Bank and a $50,000 loan from the Jefferson County Industrial Development Agency. The business is co-owned by Ryan N. and Cheryl C. Chaif, who own the Hops Spot restaurant in Sackets Harbor, and Mark P. Crandall.
