Massena Music Friends hosting Trivia Night on April 20

MASSENA—Massena Music Friends will be giving folks the opportunity to put their knowledge of inane factoids and other useless information to the test all in the name of raising money to benefit school music.

MMF will be hosting a Trivia Night fundraiser at 7 p.m. April 20 at the Massena Elks Lodge. The trivia master and masterofceremonies for the evening will be local DJ and radio personality Todd Truax of Q-Country 102.9.

“This is the first of what we hope will be an annual trivia fundraiser,” MMF President Paul Haggett said.“Trivia contests are a lot of fun and a proven way for organizations to raise money for a worthy cause. Music Friends is very pleased to be working with the Elks Club for this event.”

Entry fees are $80 per four-person team, or $20 for an individual player.Individuals who enter will be placed on a team.

Prize money will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams based on the number of teams who enter.Businesses are encouraged to sponsor or to enter a team of their own.

Haggett said a number of businesses and organizations have already stepped forward to field teams or to contribute to the formation of a team, including Seacomm Federal Credit Union, Blevins Seaway Motors, Massena Savings and Loan, the Kiwanis Club of Massena and Coleman and Jerry’s Hairstying.

In addition to the challenge of pitting your knowledge of information of very little practical use against others, Trivia Master Truax will keep everyone entertained with music and comedy.A number of auction items will be up for bid and there will be a 50/50 raffle, all to benefit MMF’s support of school music programs in Massena.

An entry form for the trivia contest is available on the Massena Music Friends’ website, will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis up until the time of the event.

So break out that old Trivial Pursuit game, watch a few episodes of “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” and otherwise fill your brain with knowledge of questionable use, get your team of friends or co-workers together and come out for a good time and for a good cause April 20 at the Massena Elks Lodge for Massena Music Friends’ first annual Trivia Challenge.
