LOWVILLE Lewis County General Hospitals new emergency department physician group now is in regional insurer POMCOs network.
The group, which in January began providing physician staffing to the facilitys emergency department, until April 1 was considered out of network for those with POMCO insurance, including most school employees.
That meant emergency patients would incur higher out-of-pocket expenses for a portion of their bills.
The hospital is in the POMCO network, so this did not affect any other services at the facility, only the ER physician component, hospital spokeswoman Christina L. Flint said in a statement.
NES and POMCO are working on a possible resolution for bills paid while NES was out of network, the release states.
