NEW BREMEN A woodshed was extensively damaged at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in a fire caused by ashes blown from a wheelbarrow.
According to a report issued by the Lewis County Sheriffs Department, the fire at 7713 Lomber Road was called in by Cheryl D. Lewis, who owned the building.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fire. Authorities said there was only minor damage to the contents of the building, which was insured.
Crews from the Croghan and Lowville fire departments also responded to the scene.
