Potsdam woman sentenced to three years in prison for selling Suboxone in Franklin County


MALONE - A Potsdam woman was sent to state prison on Tuesday for selling Suboxone in 2011.

Savanna Buckson, 30, formerly of Malone, was sentenced to three years in a state correctional facility and two years of post-release supervision for a fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance conviction. She was also ordered to pay $100 restitution by Franklin County Court Judge Robert G. Main Jr. on Tuesday: .

A grand jury indictment handed up on May 24 accused her of selling Suboxone, as well as possessing the drug with the intent to sell it on Nov. 18, 2011. Suboxone is prescribed to treat opiate addiction, but has seen increased rates of abuse in recent years.
