MASSENA - Three males are in custody and are expected to be charged tonight in connection with a home invasion at 27 1/2 Spruce St. reported to village police at 3:29 p.m. Thursday.
Massena Village Police Chief Timmy J. Currier said the initial report indicated three people - two males and a female - had burst through the door of the residence, with at least one of the males brandishing a handgun, and attacked a male that lives at the residence. Mr. Currier said the resulting investigation provided police with different information than the initial report from the complainant.
We took several people into custody over the next hour. Some of them have been released. Our investigation is continuing, and we have recovered a handgun, Mr. Currier said Thursday evening.
He said one of the men in custody is well known to police and one of the other men, listing a Syracuse address, appears to be a newcomer to the area.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
