NY Sea Grant sets Drug Take Back Day


Drugstores, police departments and businesses across the north country and nationwide will accept unwanted drugs April 27 for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Participants, followed by their respective collection sites, include the Watertown Police Department; Kinney Drugs, 905 Coffeen St.; Alexandria Bay Police Department; Kinney Drugs, 21 Route 12, Alexandria Bay; Lewis County Sheriff’s Office; Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville; St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office; Gouverneur Police Department; Kinney Drugs, 371 E. Main St., Gouverneur; Ogdensburg Police Department; Potsdam Police Department and Kinney Drugs, 48 Maple St., Potsdam.

The event is promoted by New York Sea Grant to keep pharmaceuticals out of the Great Lakes. All locations will accept unwanted and unused prescription medicines, including veterinary drugs.
