WADDINGTON Mr. and Mrs. Paul G. Gib Mitras, Waddington, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 28 with a family dinner, hosted by their sons, Gibson and Kerry, at Sabads Restaurant, Norfolk.
Mr. Mitras, son of the late Ernest and Edna Boak, and Helen F. Martin, daughter of the late Seymour Martin and Mae Martin Henry, were married on March 28, 1953, at the St. Josephs Church rectory, Massena, with the Rev. Harold J. Skelly, pastor, officiating. Honor attendants were Ellyn Kirkey, Massena, and the late Alex Gabri.
Mr. Mitras operated Gibs Restaurant, Waddington, for 18 years. He is a retired postmaster of the Waddington Post Office. He is a veteran of the Korean War and served as New York State Commander of the American Legion.
Mrs. Mitras retired from the Ogdensburg School District, where she was a teachers aide for the hearing impaired.
The couple has two sons and daughters-in-law, Gibson and Deborah, Waddington, and Kerry and Joanne, Dover Plains; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Valerie Mitras, died in 1972.
