The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:
n William A. Carroll, 27, of 43530 Strong Road, Natural Bridge, was charged by state police at 8:10 p.m. Thursday with felony aggravated DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Route 3 in the town of Wilna. State police were unable to provide his blood alcohol content, but a charge of aggravated DWI indicates a BAC of 0.18 percent or more. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Mr. Carroll was convicted of DWI within the past 10 years, making the charge a felony, police said.
n Daniel J. Clarke, 49, of 259 County Route 25, Hermon, was charged at 2:18 a.m. Saturday with aggravated DWI by St. Lawrence County sheriffs deputies after he allegedly drove his 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck into a ditch and a tree near Lazy River Road, Russell. His BAC was measured at 0.26 percent, police said. He also was charged with failing to keep right.
n Paul M. Pacini, 36, of 216 E. Main St., Brownville, was charged at 2:08 a.m. Saturday by Jefferson County sheriffs deputies. His BAC was listed at 0.11 percent.
n De D. Yang, 44, of 17 Larnard St., Potsdam, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated by state police at 1:11 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Yang drove into a ditch on Route 56 in Potsdam. His blood alcohol level was measured at 0.18 percent.
n Jesse R. Joanette, 25, of 708 New York Ave., Ogdensburg, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated by state police at 1:59 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Joanette was stopped for driving 72 miles per hour on Route 37 in Ogdensburg, where the speed limit is 45, police said. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.17 percent.
Mr. Joanette has a previous DWI conviction, leading to the felony charge. He was taken to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $10,000 cash bail.
n Cody J. Young, 24, of 37512 County Route 25, Antwerp, was charged by state police at 2:41 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Young was stopped for driving without a tail light on Route 11 in Gouverneur, police said. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.17 percent.
