Norwood woman accused of menacing neighbor with rifle

NORWOOD — A Norwood woman faces charges after she allegedly brandished a gun at one of her neighbors.

Jennifer N. Wells, 34, of 521 Douglas Road, was charged Monday with second-degree menacing, a class A misdemeanor, state police said.

According to court records, James M. Michaud was walking on his Douglas Road property Monday afternoon when Ms. Wells began yelling at him. Mr. Michaud said he couldn’t understand what Ms. Wells was saying and walked toward her. Ms. Wells then threatened him with a .22-caliber rifle, Mr. Michaud told troopers.

Ms. Wells told police that Mr. Michaud was staring at her, and that she had a BB gun in her hand when she told him to stay off her property, citing a previous boundary dispute.

Ms. Wells was arraigned before Norfolk Town Justice Donald G. Lustyik and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $1,000 bail.
