Watertown- Mrs. Audrey J. Dougherty, age 72, died Saturday at the Hospice of Jefferson County, Ellis Farm. Calling hours will be 2-4pm, Friday at the TLC Funeral Home in Watertown, followed by a short prayer service at 4pm.

Audrey was born, April 28, 1940, in Watertown, the daughter of Allen and Evelyn Hodge Saumier. She graduated from General Brown High School.

Marriages to Junior Tibbles and William Dougherty Sr. ended in divorce.

Audrey worked as a waitress and bartender in Poughkeepsie and at various restaurants in the Watertown area, including Vinnie Binks and Longways Diner.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxilary, the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxilary, the Eagles and Elks Clubs of Watertown.

Audrey enjoyed playing bingo, slot machines, jig-saw puzzles, reading and playing darts.

Surviving are two sons, Michael (Tanya) Tibbles of Watertown and William (Brenda) Dougherty of Oneida; two daughters, Sheryl (Randy) Roshia of Watertown and Darlene (Michael) Knauer of Highland, NY; three brothers, Richard Saumier of Arizona, Gilbert McQueer of Florida and Steven Washer of Belleville; three sisters, Delores Kenney of Florida, Sandy Mathews and Barbara (Jeffrey) Fitchette both of Watertown; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
