Downtown Ogdensburg restaurant will expand

The Busy Corner Cafe in downtown Ogdensburg will expand this summer to make more room for its kitchen and takeout service.

The restaurant, located at 234 Ford St., will double its current 900 square feet of work and dining space by taking over the office of podiatrist Dr. Walter H. Majak, 232 Ford St. He is closing his office June 20 and will concentrate on his practice in Watertown.

Busy Corner owner Caitlin E. Morgan said renovations will take all summer to finish.

“We’re hoping to be in by September or October,” she said Tuesday.

Open since 2006, the Busy Corner has 13 tables and employs a staff of eight.

The expansion will add another five or six tables and create two more jobs. But the emphasis, Mrs. Morgan said, will be on accommodating the eatery’s bustling takeout business.
