A Watertown man has been indicted on allegations that he strangled a woman during a domestic dispute in February.
Derrick G. Edmondson, 28, whose last known address was 208 S. Pleasant St., faces counts of second-degree strangulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.
The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment handed up Wednesday in Jefferson County Court.
It is alleged in the indictment that on Feb. 25, he applied pressure to the throat of Megan S. Witt, causing her to go into a state of stupor. It also is alleged that he damaged a mirror owned by Miss Witt by punching it. The events occurred in the presence of Miss Witts 18-month-old daughter, according to the indictment.
A second indictment handed up charges Christian M. Grabowski, 33, Antwerp, with five counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. It is alleged that he had sexual contact with a 9-year-old female in summer 2010 in the town of LeRay and that he subjected a female child to sexual contact in October 2011 in the town of Antwerp.
The grand jury also returned a no-bill, clearing Michael D. Yarbrough, 45, whose last known address was 383 Flower Ave. E., Apt. 2, of a first-degree criminal contempt charge. The jury ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support allegations that Mr. Yarbrough violated an order of protection held by Cynthia M. Garnsey in January.
