There will be plenty of entertainment in Ogdensburg this weekend as the annual Showtime Spring Variety show brings local talent, music and laughs to the Ogdensburg Free Academy auditorium.

Showtime’s 2013 Spring Variety Show will be held at the George Hall Auditorium Saturday at 7:15 p.m., Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and Monday at 7:15 p.m.

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for students and children under 5 are admitted free.

Showtime 2013 will feature many familiar faces in the chorus along with specials numbers and comedy skits. Several special guests will join Showtime including perennial favorites Don Woodcock and Dan Pearson (all three shows), the Heuvelton Central School Junior Chorus (Monday only), Heuvelton Central School music directors Eric and Kari Lutters (Monday only), and Brian Nichols (all three shows).

A “Glee” medley will be featured in the first half of the show. The second half will feature a memorial presentation during the Gospel Choir’s performance. The closing of the show will present a picture review from years past prepared by Shannon Baker.

A special treat on Sunday afternoon only will feature a patriotic medley by residents and friends from United Helpers Riverledge home. They joined Showtime at Christmas and add a delightful dimension to the show.

This year’s show, under the direction of Tom Nichols, will offer an updated format including the above listed special guests. Matt George, popular local radio personality, will assume the master of ceremony duties following in the footsteps of many fine MCs from the past. Mr. George and his sons, Cody and Tyler, also provide the music and lighting for the show.

Showtime’s volunteers look forward to presenting shows which are family oriented and that showcase many talented local voices. Come enjoy the shows while supporting local agencies that assist neighbors and friends as well as strangers in need.

Come and enjoy this 70-year tradition for a good cause.

For more information, call Tom Nichols at 393-2542, Shannon Baker at 393-4708 or Jane Fay at 375-6680.

Showtime is sponsored by Msgr. A. D. Charbonneau Council 258 Knights of Columbus, and proceeds are donated to a variety of local charities.
