MOIRA — Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, Moira, observed their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday. Their children hosted a surprise party on April 6 at the American Legion, Brushton.

Mr. Wilson, son of the late Robert and Bernice Wilson, and Carol Madlin, daughter of the late Ray and Marge Madlin, were married on April 14, 1973, at the First Methodist Church, Watertown, with the Rev. Allen T. Dodge officiating.

Mr. Wilson retired from P&C Markets after 34 years. He enjoys golfing and hunting.

Mrs. Wilson retired from SeaComm Federal Credit Union after 16 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson enjoy spending time with family.

The couple has two daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and Shawn Niles, Moira, and Debbie and Kenny Reed, Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, James C. and Diane, Cherryville, N.C., and Robert and Tara, Black River; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A grandchild, Karissa Wilson, died in a car accident in July 2006.
