Watertown woman accused of taking merchandise from Best Buy

Janelle L. Gebo, 30, of 819 W. Main Street, was arrested by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies at 1:39 p.m. Saturday at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on an arrest warrant for allegedly stealing $289.97 worth of merchandise at 8:58 p.m. April 13 from Best Buy at Salmon Run Mall.

Ms. Gebo is accused of removing one pair of over-the-ear headphones valued at $199.99, one silver iPod Shuffle valued at $44.99, and one black iPod Shuffle valued at $44.99 from the shelf and placing them in a bag she was carrying. Ignoring staff attempts to assist her, Ms. Gebo walked toward the front door and exited via the parking lot entrance without paying for the merchandise, according to deputies.

Following her arrest, Ms. Gebo was taken to Watertown Town Court for arraignment and ordered held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 bail or $1,000 bond.
