SANBORN — Allison Brady and Cierra Recor each scored four goals as the Jefferson Community College women’s lacrosse team beat Niagara County Community College, 14-8, in a Region 3 game on Sunday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Rajner and Caitlin Stone netted three goals each for the Cannoneers (6-2), while Ashley Kirch made nine saves.

Alexandrea Zugay, Brianna Becker and Jill Slomba each tallied a pair of goals for the Thunder Wolves (1-6).

COLBY-SAWYER 15, SUNY CANTON 12

Ashley Reis supplied four goals as the Chargers defeated the Kangaroos in a nonconference game at New London, N.H.

Carly Baker registered three goals and three assists for Colby-Sawyer (7-8). Tressa Goolden finished with a game-high nine points, including four goals, for SUNY Canton (5-7).

MEN’S LACROSSE

SUNY CANTON 17, JOHNSON ST. 4

Jason Thompson paced the Kangaroos with three goals and three assists as they beat Johnson (Vt.) State (2-9) in Canton.

Tanner Pratt collected four goals and Rob Gleason dished out four assists for SUNY Canton (5-5).

BASEBALL

RENSSELAER 8-6, ST. LAWRENCE 4-1

Chuck Erickson pounded out four hits, including a home run, and had two RBIs in game one as the Engineers swept a Liberty League twin bill against the Saints for the second straight day in Troy.

Jared Jensen surrendered only a run on five hits for Rensselaer (21-7, 13-5) to take the second game.

Paul Piatelli had two RBIs for St. Lawrence (13-12, 7-9) in the first game.

ROCHESTER 2-5, CLARKSON 0-3

The Yellowjackets’ Dan Warren drove in two runs on a pair of sacrifice flies as they took the nightcap to sweep a Liberty League doubleheader over the Golden Knights in Rochester.

Rochester improved to (15-15, 9-9). Greg Jasek plated two runs in game two for Clarkson (10-17, 7-11).

JEFFERSON CC 18-14, CLINTON 3-4

Tyler Decker’s six combined hits sparked a 33-hit barrage by the offense as the Cannoneers swept a Region 3 Eastern Division double header from the Cougars (1-13) for a second straight day in Plattsburgh.

Decker had five RBIs in game one for Jefferson CC (16-11, 10-2), while Chris Ballester belted a two-run home run in the nightcap.

FISHER 4, SUNY CANTON 1

Victor Lebron singled home a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning to help the Falcons (31-15) past the Kangaroos in Canton.

Michael Zelyez slapped a pair of hits for SUNY Canton (7-19).

SOFTBALL

SUNY PLATTSBURGH 6-6, SUNY POTSDAM 4-5

Samantha Tenney’s sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th of game two helped the Cardinals sweep a SUNYAC doubleheader against the Bears in Potsdam.

SUNY Plattsburgh improved to 19-11, 9-5. Amanda Perry homered in game two for SUNY Potsdam (7-17, 1-13).

SUNY CANTON 5-12, FISHER 4-4

Allie Gibson had a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh to give the Roos a win in the opener en route to a sweep of Fisher (Mass.) College (2-24) in Canton. Tina DeLuca had three hits for SUNY Canton (13-17).

MEN’S TENNIS

ST. LAWRENCE 6, RIT 3

Michael Hayden won his singles and doubles match to help the Saints to a Liberty League win over the Tigers (4-9) at Canton.

Hayden teamed up Paul Barrett, who also won a singles match for St. Lawrence (11-6).

WOMEN’S TENNIS

ST. LAWRENCE 8, RIT 1

Laura Goldhar only lost one game in her singles match as the Saints (9-5) routed the Tigers (1-7) in Liberty League play at Canton.

WOMEN’S GOLF

SLU FINISHES 25TH

Aimee Caligiore shot a team-best 171 for the short-handed Saints, who placed 25th.
