CLAYTON — The Thousand Islands Young Leaders Organization, a nonprofit group, will host a professional development course on “the power of the first impression and building rapport” from 9 a.m. to noon May 3 at the Thousand Islands Land Trust building, 135 John St.

Diana Wolgemuth, a training consultant for Dale Carnegie Training of Central New York, will teach participants how to make a lasting first impression and demonstrate techniques on building professional relationships.

Participants may preregister by May 1 for $20 by emailing the group at rsvp@tiylo.org or pay $25 at the door. For more information, visit www.tiylo.org.
