N-N grad heads back to school to propose to his girlfriend

NORFOLK - Not everyone gets lucky enough to marry their high school sweetheart, but one fortunate graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central school has had a relationship most only witness in movies.

Dayle Yandoh of Norfolk was proposed to on March 15, 2013 by her sweetheart of 12 years, Dan Grant. Dan a native of Norwood, chose March 15th for an important reason.

On March 15, 2001, ninth-graders Dayle and Dan attended a Spring Fling dance at the Norwood-Norfolk School. As the cute young couple took the floor and began to dance, they were rudely interrupted by another student. Dayle was upset by the fact that she did not get to finish that dance.

But little did she know that her Prince Charming would later make it up to her. On March 15 of this year, Dan got permission to come into the school and set up a little surprise in the elementary cafeteria, where the spring dance was held 12 years ago.

As Dayle was led into the elementary cafeteria, she was surprised to see Dan was there waiting for her, but she had no idea what was about to happen next. As she approached Dan he asked if they could finish the dance that had been interrupted when they were in ninth grade. Dayle was shocked that he remembered something that had happened so long ago, and she said, “Yes.”

After the dance, Dan then got down on one knee and asked the love of his life if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Dayle said yes again. Well folks, that is where this fairytale ends and a new chapter of their life begins, but as for all you men out there, take notes because this is how a real gentleman does it.
