Janet Torres, age 56 of Ogdensburg passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (April 23, 2013) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center after being stricken at home. There will be no funeral service as per her request.
Surviving are her two sons Anthony Torres of Ogdensburg and Gerard Lespanisse Jr., along with a special friend Richard Morrow of Ogdensburg.
Janet was born on May 15, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late William & Carmen (Colon) Torres. She graduated from Brooklyn High School and worked as a transit police officer for three years. She then continued her education at Brooklyn College where she obtained a Bachelors & Masters degree in business and finance. She then began working at the Brooklyn National Bank until 1995 when she relocated to Ogdensburg. While in Ogdensburg, she attended Mater Dei College and Boces where she obtained her CNA Degree. She enjoyed caring for others and was employed at United Helpers Nursing Home, Claxton Hepburn Medical Center and provided private home care before becoming disabled from an injury.
She enjoyed traveling, playing the piano & guitar, knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, computers and spending time with her son Anthony and her friends. Online condolences can also be shared at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
