Special Prosecutor appoints assistant DAs to investigate Hallett incident

The special prosecutor appointed in the ongoing investigation of a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy suspected of drunken driving has assigned two of his assistant District Attorneys to the case.

Oneida County District Attorney Scott D. McNamara has appointed First Assistant District Attorney Michael A. Coluzza and Assistant District Attorney Stacey L. Paolizzi to head up all inquiries into a Dec. 1 incident in which Deputy Adam B. Hallett was found unresposive in his patrol vehicle with an open bottle of liquor several hours after he went off duty in the town of Henderson.

Mr. McNamara was named special prosecutor on Monday after Jefferson County Court Judge Kim H. Martusewicz determined that Jefferson County District Attorney Cindy F. Intschert had a conflict of interest in the case.
