GLENFIELD Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Fenton, 6644 Otter Creek Road, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner on April 18.
Mr. Fenton, son of the late Earl A. and Julia Nagy Fenton, and Audrey M. Roy, daughter of the late Antonias and Mildred Johnson Roy, were married on April 18, 1953, in Martinsburg with the Rev. Martin Wicks officiating. Honor attendants were Marie Bower and the late Lyle Bower.
Mr. Fenton attended General Martin High School, Glenfield. He served in the Army and received his general equivalency diploma. He worked as a logger, truck driver and large equipment operator at Kraft Food, Lowville, and retired from South Lewis Central School, Turin. He operated a gun shop from his home for more than 30 years. Mr. Fenton enjoys hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, camping, trap shooting and weekend safaris with family. He is a life member of Glen-Greig Fish and Game Club.
Mrs. Fenton attended Lowville Academy and received her GED. She worked at Lallys Manufacturing Co., Port Leyden, and retired from South Lewis Central School. She enjoys crafts and is a member of the Glenfield Firemens Auxiliary and Singing Waters Seniors.
The couple has a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Freeman, Turin; a son, Ken, Glenfield; two grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. A daughter, Kathy, died in 2011, and a daughter, Kim, died in 1980.
