Drug roundup nets 17 arrests in Watertown, Jefferson County

Several people have been arrested on drug charges following a roundup by the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force over the past several days.

Calling it Operation Arbor Day Roundup, the drug task force, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and Watertown Police Department executed sealed indictments and arrest warrants on 17 north country residents.

The suspects were processed at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and arraigned in County Court, where each entered not-guilty pleas to counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

They all were ordered held on bail at the PSB.

Those arraigned:

n Joseph B. Nelson, 23, of 32649 County Route 194, Upper Apt., Theresa, who faces one count of each charge. It is alleged he sold cocaine in mid-February. His bail was set at $20,000.

n Michaele J. Reid, 25, of 194 Cedar St., Rear Apt., who faces two counts of each charge. It is alleged he sold cocaine twice on the same day in late March. Bail was set at $15,000.

n Norman M. Logan, 32, of 194 Cedar St., Rear Apt., is charged with two counts of each charge and is alleged to have sold cocaine twice on the same late March day. Bail was set at $20,000.

n Doreen J. Slocum, 26, Bailey Settlement Road, Alexandria Bay, charged with one count each. It is alleged she sold heroin in late December. Bail was set at $10,000.

n Desiree L. Smith, 22, of 327 Walker Ave., Apt. C, charged with one count of each, alleged to have sold heroin in mid-December. Her bail was $10,000.

n Cortney L. Tanner, 19, of 1144 Gill St., charged with two counts each. It is alleged she sold heroin on two days in mid-December. Bail was set at $15,000.

n Thomas M. Rosen Jr., 26, of 548 Mill St., Apt. 1, faces two counts each, alleged to have sold morphine in late January and again in early February. Bail was set at $10,000.

n Susan C. Monroe, 54, of 1005 Bronson St., charged with one count each. It is alleged she sold heroin in late March. Her bail was set at $15,000.

n Eric R. Bartholomew, 26, of 505 Arsenal St., Apt. 4, charged with two counts each, alleged to have sold cocaine in late January and again four days later. Bail was set at $10,000.

n Jeffery C. McCreery, 37, of 39416 Route 126, Carthage, charged with one count each, alleged to have sold heroin in late January. Bail was set at $5,000.

nRichard R. Woodard, 31, of 24264 Route 11, Lower Apt., Calcium, charged with two counts each. It is alleged that he sold cocaine twice on the same mid-March day. Bail was set at $15,000.

n Brian C. Morenz, 32, of 130 Court St., Apt. 806, charged with two counts of each, alleged to have sold cocaine twice on the same early February day. He also is charged with first-degree criminal nuisance for allegedly allowing his residence to be used as place for people to gather to sell drugs. His bail was set at $20,000.

n Devin Daniels, 24, Baltimore, Md., charged with two counts each, alleged to have sold cocaine in mid-January and again six days later. Bail was set at $20,000.

n Derek A. Paine, 24, of 159 Mechanic St., Upper Apt., charged with one count each, alleged to have sold cocaine in late February. Bail was set at $15,000.

n Anthony M. Thompson, 22, of 615 Academy St., Front Apt., charged with selling cocaine in early March and again in late March. Bail was set at $20,000.

n Jennifer M. Gault, 25, of 414 S. Massey St., Apt. 1, charged with single counts, alleged to have sold heroin in late January. Her bail was set at $10,000.

n Rhonda M. Thomas, 32, of 407 Fairview St., charged with two counts each. It is alleged she sold heroin twice on the same late March day. Bail was set at $10,000.

Earlier in the week, three men and a woman were arrested following a drug raid in a State Street apartment that netted 39 plastic bags of crack cocaine and more than $11,000 in cash.
